Ms. Rania Al Jazairi Dabbous: Biography:

First Social Affairs Officer working for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia since 2004.

She has over 15 years of experience in gender and human rights issues.

Worked directly with governments, regional and International organizations on humanitarian law, public policy, civil society and governance, institutional development, social justice, youth empowerment, poverty eradication, and socio-economic development.

Managed several projects and published many reports, papers and publications at the UN, as well as at peer-reviewed academic journals, mainly on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination in the Arab Region (CEDAW), Violence against women, social justice, and transitional justice and refugees.

Certified investigator who chaired several fact-finding panels investigating cases of misconduct including, fraud, financial fraud, harassment, discrimination and abuse of authority in the UN system.

Holds a BA and an MA in International Affairs from the Lebanese American University.

Visiting Fellow at Yale University, USA in 2014.
