DR. CARMEN GEHA : BIOGRAPHY

Assistant Professor of Public Administration at the American University of Beirut.

Teaches public management, leadership and civic engagement.

Specializes in the politics of power-sharing and women’s political representation.

Carmen has a decade of experience development having worked with governments, international organizations, and UN agencies in Myanmar, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq on issues including women political participation.

A long-time civil society activist, she has founded and supported myriad regional initiatives to enhance the representation of women.

Active member of the Committee for the Role of Women in Decision-making at NCLW.

Holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews, and a BA and MA in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut.
